The shelf unit went in fine; it looks great in its spot. The cabinet and microwave was much more difficult to hang than I thought. It’s like that with construction projects: always a trick or a complication. It took the two of us a few hours to get the cabinet hung and the brace on the wall and then the measure and double check of dimensions to secure the microwave to the cabinet and get the electric cord through. Measure twice cut once and the lift it into place. I was thrilled with the progress and it was a nice treat to come home last night and have the low light from the microwave as I walked into the house. Now two of the four walls are done and plans are for the sink to be next. That will be an all day project, a bit more complicated and I will need help with that piece.
I will see if I can get another cabinet today, I have a part to return, no need to waste a trip to the store. If I can get it put together before Saturday, then we should be able to hang it on the wall and get the sink in next week. I like making progress, it feels good after so many months looking at pictures, working on designs and planning. I feel like I made a good choice, and am pushing through the build out a bit quicker then I planned but I am anxious to get done.
