I went to a party on Saturday night: a dress up affair. It was nice to pull some pretty things out of the closet. I chatted with a few people, did a bit of networking. I stayed for a few hours and then headed back to the house. I snuggled in for the evening and woke up very early: it was around 4:30.
I hopped on the computer and found someone on line that supposedly was my dream date. I mentioned that the on line dating site had a free weekend last week. Well Mr. Dream date apparently wasn’t all that. It had the makings of a scam. I was hesitant from an email I received: way to much information and an animated picture as stationary: Give me a break, guys don’t do that. As the on line chat progressed, the details just didn’t add up. The English was all wrong; the places he mentioned didn’t have the detail. I cut the chat and told him to take a hike before I wasted anymore time. I wonder who I was communicating with, where in the world were they. Nothing lost but a bit of time, nothing gained except another “you can be anyone on line” experience.
I decided I didn’t want to start my day that early so I curled up with a book and fell back to sleep. Later in the day, I was loading up the car and Saba decided he was joining me. He hopped in the back seat and wouldn’t get out. Some times he is stubborn. I had planned to go to the big box store for the coffee maker, a toaster and then head up to Ikea to return an item and pick up another. I stopped at the park to run Saba down. It was a lovely afternoon, bright sunshine and warmer weather. There were lots of people and dogs out enjoying the day.
We stayed there for about an hour an a half, it was just so nice. As I was headed to the next destination, the telephone rang: I saw it was work; it was time to change plans and head into the office for the rest of the afternoon and evening. The traffic was heavy near the park and the construction mess was creating a back up. I decided to head straight into the office with Saba in the car. I parked in the shade, cracked the windows and set off to my desk. Saba would be fine taking a nap for a few hours, no need to worry.
I finished up my tasks and stopped at the drive through for dinner. We stopped at the convenience store to get some milk. I was hopeful the dripping coffee pot would last one more day. I wasn’t in the mood to deal with the big box store after work. I will have to get the new coffee maker after work tonight, the coffee this morning is not so warm and the water is all over the counter.
