The big clean:

It was the morning to drag all the cleaning products out of the closet. I am off work for a few days with Christmas falling on a Friday. I forgot to tell Saba we had the day off, so up early it was. I started with the laundry even before the coffee was finished. It was time to find those dust bunny’s that have been in the corner way too long. The mop, the vacuum and the dust rag. It is amazing how much gook can find its way behind furniture, under the bed and in the corners. As I stripped the bed, I was thinking the dust ruffle sure does its job: it was time to send that into the wash along with the duvet cover and the mattress pad. It has been a while since I vacuumed the mattress, so I pulled the pieces apart and got one side done and then flipped it over and turned it around. I started putting it back together and am waiting for the dust ruffle to dry out on the cloths line. I got the floors swept and then it was time for the mopping. I wanted to make sure all the construction dust disappeared along with the usual dust and junk. The bath is sparkling and shiny, the bed is fresh with new sheets and the duvet cover is outside hanging on the line. The kitchen is looking nice and neat, but that might not last that long. I am looking for my cook books and figure its time to celebrate by putting a nice meal for myself together.

I don’t know if I will venture out today, I want to take Saba to the park, but it’s windy as all get out. I think I will wait an hour or so, until the cold front passes through and see if it calms down any. If not, it will be time to get started on dinner and perhaps some treats. It’s Christmas Eve and I am sure most places will be closing early to enjoy the time with family. I will be heading to church later for the evening mass. It’s time to say thanks to God for all the blessings in my life.
