Finally got home at 9:30 after a stop at Krispy Kream
Had a busy, frustrating day at the office again. Stress seems to abound this time of year. Tenants with money problems, bounced checks, finals and the good old family problems.
Went to the Police Departments Commanders Forum last night. It is a quarterly meeting of the district representatives and the public. It seems that there is an increase in smash the car window and grab the stuff going on at the mall. Gee, why don’t you lock the goodie bags in the trunk of the car? Crimes of opportunity, runners leaving there purses and wallets along with there car keys in the car. The newest one I heard was stealing the remote for the garage. The thieves break a window one night and after you leave for work the next morning, they arrive and wipe the garage out. I bet some of these folks leave the door unlocked for them so they can ransack the house.
I have to decide if I want to be on the Police Chiefs forum. It is a 2 year appointment, meetings every 3 months. Sounds like it could be fun. Fingerprints and background checks to qualify.
I had to stop at Krispy Kream on the way home last night. Saba was in the car and it is one of his favorite stops. We had hot fresh doughnuts as a late night snack. The counter people are fun, I always ask for a free one for Saba. Some of the worker know him, others look at me like I am crazy until they see him wait patiently for his little treat. YUMMY.
