Remind me NEVER to drive rush hour traffic again.
I left work a little early yesterday. I headed out to run some errands: pick up the photos from Phoenix race, grab some milk and other necessities and then return the groovy little camera. I was having trouble with the camera holding photos. I tried 3 different batteries with no luck, I decided it was a problem with the camera.
It was about 4:30 on a Friday afternoon when I headed out. North on Mopac was a little slow but no big deal. Cranky called when I was in the store so I headed home after successfully exchanging the little SiPix. They didn’t think they had another in stock. Alas, I wined enough in the camera department that they found a repackaged one for me. I love the small size of it. 2”x2”. I left the big electronic store at about 5:30 mind you it is less than 15 miles from my south Austin home. I made a wrong decision on turn lanes and ended up having to take the access road a little longer. Saba and I were at a stop light when a kid in the SUV next to me started to talk to the dog. I rolled down the window and we had a nice little chat about my baby. The kids, I think there were 3 in the back seat, Mom in the front and a teenage driver all wanted to know about him and comment how well behaved he is. My pride meter was off the chart. He is a good traveler.
I finally made it back to the house about 6:45. How on earth do people handle the traffic everyday? I thought I was going to loose my mind. I love being able to walk to work and around the corner for the store. It reminded me of living outside of NYC. I swore I would never spend that much time commuting ever again. If I cant find a job close by , I will move. Not that I am looking for work, but that is a major quality of life issue for me.
Cranky bought me some fish for the tank. They are quite cute little white little guys. I think they look great in the tank. I decided to hell with the plans for drinks and a show. I just wanted to be home last night. We ordered pizza, watched a little TV and then Cranky headed home. I curled up on the couch with Saba and fell sound asleep. About 2:30 this morning I woke up and watched a good movie, Riding in Cars with Boys. I missed a little bit of the beginning of the movie but enjoyed it just the same. Went right back to sleep on the couch when it ended. I was just too comfy to move. That couch, it just sucks you in and says sleep on me!
