Oh what a shitty way to end a vacation.

I got a note from Jacques yesterday saying not to use his e-mail address any longer. I sent a note to Valerie to see what happened. I assumed he just got in trouble for using company e-mail for personal stuff.
But that may not be it, after 10 years working for the same company he got fired/let go. Welcome back from your vacation, you have 8 hours to clean out your desk and turn in your keys. THAT sucks! It gets worse, Valerie got to the office and found out that the funding for her company is no longer. They decided not to fund the day after she left for vacation. Do ya think someone could have called/e-mailed to let them know.
Update:
I was thinking about translation last night. I am not sure if Valerie knows the difference between, laid off, fired and let go. English is not her first language. Not that it changes the outcome but I don't want to be gossiping. d.
