Bottled water can explode!
01/08/2003

Yes, it makes a mess and gets you covered in water.

I noticed about mid day that the water was almost out in the office water cooler yesterday. I went ahead and replaced it. About 5:15 pm, I noticed it gurgling and went to investigate. I touch the bottle and it explodes all over me.

Yup, me, the floor the end table the rug runner and various assorted stuff in the front room. Did you know those things hold about 5 gallons of water? It makes a big mess when it lets go. I toss said bottle out the front door as it is swooshing over me. Great I think, I need to clean this mess up. I have a girl coming to the office in about 15 minuets, no time to get changed. I am soaked from head to toe. I grab some towels, and start cleaning the mess. She walks in and sees me, the mess and the office out of sorts. Great way to start a new lease. I suck it up and get her moved in, boy is it cold out when you are soaked. I call the carpet guy and leave a message that I need him to drop a blower off the next day and head home. I don’t dare go out after this. First I am freezing, second I am grumpy. I just ordered pizza and got in my pajamas.

This morning I am clearing out the living room. I am getting the carpet replaced with tile. One of the new years goals should be completed in a day or two. I am also going to have a pantry built to fit. I have this one end of the kitchen that is just an odd size. No standard cabinet works, and nothing pre fabricated fits. I am just going to suck it up and get it built.
