I was not feeling all that well the last few days but seem on the mend now.
I have had a bunch of phone calls to Mom, she is in FL with the family. How to calls: find the air conditioner filter, find a carpet store, find the exterminator, find a painter, find a garbage hauler. It is so easy to do it on line. I guess I am somehow lending support. I don’t know what they are going to do with grandpa, but they are clearing out his house. They are getting it ready for selling. I don’t feel right about that but it is not my decision.
There was no service for Grandma Devota. Just like I recalled. I kept telling everyone there would be no service but they didn’t listen. I got a call from the funeral home, there was some confusion over paperwork but she was long in her new urn before the family arrived in FL.
Work has been a lot challenging the last few days. It is hard to keep things together when ¼ of the office is out. That would be me. Small companies are a little harder to work for when this happens. I did manage to get the monthly checks cut and run a bunch of errands. I didn’t feel well enough to go back in on Thursday afternoon, I went home to take a nap and slept all afternoon and night. I arrived to ciaos on Friday morning. All was back in order after a lot of running around on Friday.
My date, P for the governors ball has yet to rent a tux. I managed to snag a few from Kramer before he left for the airport. I don’t know if one of them will fit, but it is the best try for right now. I can’t figure out Kramer, no car but 3 tuxes? I put in an emergency call the my hairdresser, Dixie. She is not working on Saturday, she has a wedding she is doing outside the salon. I love Dixie, I explained my dilemma to her and she will give me a call after she gets done with the wedding. I should have gotten my hair trimmed up before Christmas but ran out of time.
I spoke to one of my racing buddies yesterday. He has not bought tickets to TX motor speedway either. I don’t think he can go with me, he does have a wife. I don’t think she would be that happy if I stole her husband for a weekend of racing. I need to call the track and get a set of tickets this week. The big question is season tickets or just for race weekend? Price will be the deciding factor.
SXSW is heating up. I worked a few hours at the Vol. Call on wed. night. I was still not feeling well and ducked out early. I have to be down at he Hyatt for the call by 12:30 on Sunday to help set up the new space. Never worked this particular room and my assistance is needed for the set up. I am great at defining spaces and getting large amounts of people moving. Years of concert experience.
