Racing HAS STARTED! 19 of the best drivers in the NASCAR circuit. The cars looked sleek under the lights, the format was a Saturday night short track style. Daytona with its tri-oval lots of bumping and grinding! The race was 20 laps then a 10 min. break, then a shoot out to the finish. One green flag pit stop. All the cars pitted at once, It was a mad dash to pit road.
The new body style seems to have the cars on an even plane, that should keep the rule changes to a minimum. Pit strategy played a big part of the race. 1 or 2 tires, no tires, gas and go. My heart was racing as the race was down to the last 5 laps. Was it going to be Jeff, Dale Jr. or could Jimmy get in there with his 4 new tires?
I taped the race and plan on watching it again tonight. It was just good fun racing!
The only annoyance was that girl doing the spots from pit row. Who is she? Has she ever been to a race? It seemed to me the producer was telling her exactly what to say. HUM, I think I will jot a note to Fox and let them know of my disapointment with her. Hey I am a girl, I would love to see a girl broadcating, but you should know your racing if you are going to do this!
