Michael Waltrip ?!
02/16/2003

I can’t believe he won the race today icky, icky I don‘t like his style.

He is a little aggressive and dangerious and never gets blamed when he messes up. It helps to have a relative in the broadcast booth. It was his second Daytona win. I started watching at 11:00 two rain delays later and the race was called 96 laps short due to rain 5 ½ hours later.

I was rooting for Dale Jr., he was hot all weekend and my favorite driver Mark Martin came in sixth. Poor Dale, I was watching his in car when the alternator let go. He was dominating the race and just ran out of electric. I think he was using a smaller alternator due to the restrictor plates. The smaller alternator keep the horse power up. Dam shame, a part that costs less than a few hundred dollars cost the race he went from 1st to 36th . Ryan Newman had a horrific crash. The car tumbled front end over ass end it was a scary looking crash. Nascar has made so many safety changes Ryan was able to walk away from the wreck.

We will see what happens in Rockingham NC next week. No restrictor plate and less banking 22-25 degrees vs. 33 degrees in Daytona.

I'm not a big NASCAR fan, but my brother-in-law is, big time. He likes the guy who drives for Home Depot. Is that Tony somebody? They have lots of orange clothes in their house.
