Austin City Limits Festival day 1
09/19/2003

He he, I like going to big shows and not working them, it has been a long time since I just got to hang out in the crowd, no radio in my ear, not bunches of people asking me for things. I started the day around 1:30 with Pauline Reess, the Steve Earl, Robert Earle Keen acoustic, Los lonely Boys, Martin Sexton, Del Castillo, Robert Earle Keen electric and ended with Dwight Yoakam.

What a day and I only got a tad sunburned. I snuck out of the office early today, managed to get all my work done early in the week and grabbed the bike and went on down the hill to the park. It was a fun filled day, lazing around listening to good music, socializing and just relaxing. I ran into the bosses daughter and her friend, we hung out for Robert Earl acoustic and then I lost them in the crowd. There were way to many cell phones in use today, not may people could get a signal. Lots of folks just staring at there phones, they had to meet up with there friends the old fashioned way, find them in the crowd.

The ride home was all up hill, it was a bitch after being tired, sunburned and worn out from the day. I am sure it still beat the alternative. Took about 15 minuets to get home with a stop at the store. All in all a fun day and glad to be going and doing it again tomorrow.
