A new beau for my friend and MOM this morning!

I was watching 2 acquaintances of mine last night doing the hand holding, schmoozy dating thing and the green jealousy monster hopped on my shoulder for just a second. I hate when he does that, it is only a momentary thing but that monster, he can be downright mean. I am happy for these two, they seem to make a nice couple, things are working out, and that is great! But dam it, I want a boyfriend too.
After a quite day at the office, I headed out to the happy hour, it was only 5 of us, a nice size group for chatting, getting caught up and socialization. We traded some gossip, we talked tech and then headed to that little Italian place for dinner. It was just a lovely evening.
I spent this morning on the phone with MOM. She is just driving me nuts again. I heard about how difficult it was yesterday for her, the tree trimmers were on the block from 8 am to 4 pm. It just rocked her world. Mind you it was her and her neighbor that called the guy to come in, they needed the work done and she bitched about it for 10 minuets!
I am thinking about painting the barn, I chose 2 colors that I like, both pale purple and mentioned it to MOM. See the house is yellow with light yellow trim and I thought it would be fun to have a purple barn. Yellow and purple go together quite nicely. Mom was aghast, “why would I even think about changing from the yellow, everything should match“. “Think about resale” she said. “You will need 2 coats to cover the dark color.” on and on she went. I gently reminded her that she hated the idea of a yellow house when I decide on that color. Didn’t matter, she hates change, she hates colors, it is just a MOM thing. I like purple, so purple it will be.
I am doing the Saturday chores as I type, I have the 3rd load of laundry in, the bed is changed, Saba always like to “help” with that chore! He likes to get all tangled up in the sheets and blankets. Sometimes I just go ahead and make the bed with him in it. If he won’t get out of the way, he gets tucked in. I am heading out to the store to buy a yoga mat. I have a JournalCon meeting scheduled after yoga and then I head down to Thunder hill for the races tonight.
