Jr. nails the finish.
11/02/2003

We headed out to the track a little early today, the boys partied a little hard last night but there was only a little whining this morning. Managed to get every on in the car on the way by 9:00 am. It is always difficult to get to the track on Cup race day. Seems everyone shows up. I have 160K new friends.

I stopped and got myself a bloody Mary before the race started. It was a great day, sunny highs in the mid 70’s. Remember how I said the track changed, well it changed a lot since Saturday Happy Hour. Most of the cars were a little off for the first 33 laps until the caution fell for Jeremy Mayfield’s engine falling apart. The cars got better after the first pit stop. I heard on the TV broadcast that we had the most cautions for a Winston Cup Race today. I can tell you the race was exciting. There were a bunch of lead changes and Robby had a crappy day. My # 31 driver started 31 and ended up 32. Breaks on both sides, a loose rear wheel and he got 2 laps down. You could hear the frustration in his voice. I think he needs a new spotter. I was listening a bunch to Robby’s radio and the spotter was not much help. I can to a better job spotting than he did. I wonder what is up with that?

Brothers friend is a huge Jr. fan, I was wondering if we could get him in the car with his clucking about his favorite driver. I was a good girl, I didn’t leave him at the track. We went across the street to grab a bite to eat after the race. Friend ended up buying us supper, that was nice of him. The place was filled with race fans on the way home from the track. I don’t know how I managed to get into the correct line, but once we left the track, it was less than 35 minuets to the hotel.

I am thinking about hopping in the hot tub, we will see. I get to sleep in a little and head back to TX tomorrow.
