81 days, 19 hours until the 2004 Daytona 500
11/25/2003

Ok so I borrowed that from Jayski’s site, thanks but that was what I was thinking last night. I did a lot of running around on Sunday and I should be working on the yard. That is what the off season is for doing chores.

I am going to head down to my yoga class tonight, I haven’t been there in ages it seems. I guess it is a little more than a week, but I didn’t want to interrupt my visit with Dad. I am still basking in the glee of his visit, I just had so much fun hanging out with him. It makes me wonder why we have wasted so much time not doing this? I guess we all get busy, little things in life get in the way. The distance doesn’t help much, but I do love computers. I can jot him a note and he has it by the next day. He is not as addicted to the computer as I am but he does check the mail every couple of days.

I am watching crank’s creature this week as she is off in far East Texas for a visit with the family. Pixie is just so cute, I can see why she is in love with her! She was playing in the garden this afternoon, she was running around in the bamboo this afternoon and she was just waiting on the porch for me to get off work to let her in tonight. I stayed a little while and petted and talked with her, she is quite the social creature.

I have been watching folks pack up and head out for the holiday. Some are headed home to see family and some are heading back home for good. One of my favorite cats from the complex is getting relocated. Her mom lost her job and is headed back home to Mississippi. 3 job changes in 3 years, I think it was she said, was enough for her. I will be looking for Leah as I walk by each day. She had the habit of rubbing up against the window as I walked by in the desperate attempt to get petted. She is just a big bundle of gray fur. I used to “pet” her through the window a couple of times a day. Ah changes.

I am not sure what I am going to do for the holiday. I am going to put up the Christmas lights, I might put the barbeque to use and make myself a little dinner. I don’t think it will be turkey, but I will look in the store tonight for something to grill. I kind of like having a quiet holiday, I will just turn on the Macy’s parade on Thursday morning. I used to spend my holiday down in New York at the parade then headed over to china town for dinner. It was my tradition for years before I came to Texas. My family was often out of town for the holidays back then. It is a lot warmer to sit and watch the parade on TV than bundle up for it back in New England with mittens, hats and gloves.

Yeah, thanks for taking care of my little furry black and white ball of evil. She's pissed off at me, keeps biting me whenever she gets the chance. She'll get over it. I really appreciate it!
