Ok so it is Tuesday morning, December 9, 2003.

I am at home, my back is much much better and I am in the midst of the job search.

On happy notes, H. graduated from College on Sunday, I am so proud of her. We had a nice celebration dinner after the ceremony. I went back to volunteering at the police department filing fingerprints. They really missed me the last few months. I have yoga class tonight, I am planning on hitting the sauna after class. My world is good, just the future is a little uncertain right now. .

I have been sending application after application. I have had a few bites a few interviews but I am getting impatient. I know it is just me. I would like to have something lined up for the beginning of January. I know it is only the 8th of December, but you all know how I am, I like to have things orderly, planned out, timeframes set out….. This is going to drive me over the top. I am making some calls today to follow up with applications I have not heard back from. I think it is worth a call, find out if I should put them in the closed-did not get file or keep them in the still waiting to hear from file.

I feel like I am a child jumping up and saying “pick me, pick me I am the most qualified”. It is humbling looking for work. You see the posting or advertisement. You send off the application or resume and wait. Occasionally you get an automated email response saying “thank you for applying”. Sometimes you just fax to a number and you have no idea who is at the other end of the line. Some times it seems these important pieces of your whole life just go to digital waste basket on the web.

OH well, it is nothing that others have not faced. There are thousands of folks out there looking for work. I am not alone, I have lots of competition. I will find the perfect position; I will end up with weekends off, holidays and benefits. You all just might have to listen to me whine for a few weeks. I apologize in advance, just know, I do need ya’ll right now.
