I am getting used to the new routine. The new job is going terrific, the new roommate is working out and the shopping trip was successful.

I managed to get to the outlet malls early on New Years Eve. I snagged a bunch of new shoes, a bunch of new slacks and some blouses that match. I feel like a grown up now, having to dress for work. It is a nice change though, I feel a little more professional.

I didn’t have to work New Years Day. It was the first time in 5 years that I didn’t have to go into the office to handle checks. It was a nice slow start to the day, I just had a cup of coffee on the porch, a nice breakfast and a relaxing day. I puttered around the house, did some yard work and headed over to Yoga Yoga for some sun salutations. They have a nice studio, I just wish they were not so pricy, I would love to practice yoga there. I went to Jack and Carol’s house for there Chili Caucus, an almost annual event and a nice way to start the New Year.

I managed to take the bus to work on Friday. I grabbed the early bus and meandered over to the big cop office. I grabbed a cup of coffee on the way and ended up getting in a bit early. I will try to take the next scheduled bus today to see if I land there closer to on time. The ride home will be a little challenging; I need to make 4 blocks in less than 10 minuets. I figure if I don’t make that bus, there are a lot of places I can hang out for the 20 minuets for the next ride. The great part of this commuting plan is it takes less than 20 minuets from mi casa to downtown Austin. I think I am going to like this.

I saw Lord of the Rings yesterday, I managed to go to the matinee at noon and enjoyed every second of the 3+hour film. I am glad I saw it at ½ price but this one I would have paid full price for. It was that good.

Plans for today: heading to the big box hardware store, I have to return the new birdfeeder, the hanger part broke on the second fill up and V., my roommate wants a ceiling fan in her room. I will take a look and see what we can find, the problem is not purchasing, it’s the installation. I just hate to work on electrical stuff, not my forte. I also need to head to the grocery store, getting low on lunch stuff. I am eating at home a lot more now. All in all, things are going smoothly in my little world right now.
