179.881 That’s pretty dam fast Robbie. Test times from Busch, Daytona last week
01/28/2004

I am waiting on an announcement from NASCAR about hand signals in the pits. I saw rumors and a press was conferences scheduled, but haven’t seen what they are yet. They will be for pitting out of the box, too many men over the wall, equipment left on pit road etc.

It should make watching the pits from the seats a little easier. It sounds like they are borrowing a bit from football. It will be like watching the officials during the football game. Once you know the signals, you don’t need to listen to the announcement. During races, you had to listen to the scanner. I think I like this change.

Testing is currently going on in Las Vegas. Tire tests and new spoilers. Reports are coming in slowly, sounds like they are off to a good start. Just saw a news flash on NASCAR.com that there are changes brewing at DEI. Ty Norris, the vice president is leaving. He held the DEI folks together after Dale Sr. passed. I wonder what Theresa is up to? Wonder how that will affect the race car drivers?

Me, I am off to training this afternoon, it has been a week of meetings and time commitments. I thought I would have a bunch of flake time working part time, but alas, the schedule gets filled up with interviews, meetings and alike. It is good, I am getting a bit board, I would like to ease back into full time. Saba and I went to the park Sunday morning; we saw a bunch of deer, some beautiful birds and had about an hour and a half romp. It was beautiful, glad I got out into the sunshine before the SXSW volunteer call Sunday afternoon.
