DJ nails the Bud Pole Shootout!

I didn’t mention Dale Jarrett much last year, he had a horrid season in 03, but it looks like my UPS driver nailed the finish with a little help from Jr. this year.
Dale (88) is listed on the right as one of my favorites, I just hope this is the boost they need for the 04 season. Mark Martin (6) placed 4th and Robby wasn’t in the shootout this year, he didn’t get any pole positions last year. Mark’s sponsor is listed as Oscar Mayer/Team Kraft for this race, but we know him better as the Viagra driver. So, the young guns finished 2nd, 3rd, and 5th and the old timers took 1st, 4th and 6th. It seems to me that it was just a big old fashioned race to the checkered flag. I do like the format of the shootout. It is a small group of drivers, 19 that took part this year. There is a mandatory caution lap and a race to the finish. I got to see a bunch of the pre race coverage, and the wrap up of the race. I had a birthday dinner planned last night and figured I could just watch the video when I got home. Bad news, V’s VCR didn’t tape. I need to figure this one out and get it up and running or will have to make some other arrangements. I can’t skip watching my races!
I went out with the Yoga girls last night, it was a birthday celebration and we headed off to an Arabic restaurant complete with belly dancing. Food was great, the room is neat and I had a good time. I just can’t remember when I was last there. It is a little difficult to find, but it is always a treat. I noticed it was birthday night at the restaurant. I saw at least 5 other cakes being sent to tables. The restaurant only has 12 tables.
Plans for today, do a bit of shopping, put some plants in the ground (got some replacement hedges) and get the taxes done.
