So, we have bit of a technology shift and travel plans

I got rid of the cable modem and the other cable services and signed up for DSL. That leaves one dilemma:
With the budget cuts, I am back down to an antenna. I can get about 8 channels, some in English, some in Spanish. I do get all the major network broadcasts but no more Speed TV, no more TNT. How do I watch races on non network broadcasts? Do I call my friends and say “hey can I borrow you TV for the afternoon?” I don’t think so. I need to find a local sports bar that will carry the races. There are only about 12 races that I will not have access to over the season, that’s not too bad. I am in a hunt for such a place. Do any of you live in Austin and have suggestions? I know there are race fans out there, I know y’all have a bunch of information so please share!
What’s going on in my world? Hum not a lot but a bunch of things. I am working on the SXSW music festival. I have a good crew this year and we have some exciting acts at the Town Lake Stage. I am enjoying my job at APD, just part time but I am enjoying that. I have been answering a bunch of help wanted ads and am waiting for some jobs to open up at APD. I hope to be back to employed full time soon. I have been working on the yard with my time off. I have moved a bunch of plants around, I have some bulbs that are about to bloom. Spring is in the air here in Austin, the peaches are about to bloom. I need to purchase some additional plants for the fence lines but am watching the budget right now. I got a few plants last week and will get some more next week. I am just adjusting to my budget.
Good news, I got the tax return done, we are getting a refund. I have figured out what I am going to do with it. I figure if I can get the tent out of the barn and get it cleaned up and back into shape, Saba and I can take a whole bunch of trips this spring and summer. If we do the car camping thing, it will only cost us about $10.00 per night and gas and food money. NO, I don’t do the full camping thing. I am willing to sleep on the ground but I do want a good meal. We all know I am not the best cook and I am atrocious at camp cooking. I can boil water for coffee, grab a snack in the morning but that is about the extent of if. Denny’s and Waffle House here I come! Not healthy but cheep, I can pack some fruits, vegetables and cheese in the cooler. Stop along the way and grab some grub for sandwiches. This worked for me for years, then I got a good paying job and got spoiled staying in hotels, but it is back to the basics again. I purchased the Texas dog lovers companion guide, and need to start picking places to visit.
