Well I waited to celebrate my birthday until today. I had a little trip planed and needed to get work and sleep done before Saba and I headed out for the weekend. We are currently visiting brother. No, I am not telling what number this one is.

I was a long drive, 14 hours: 12 driving and the balance to get lost and play in the parks. I managed to get to Los Alamos with out a lot of unexpected hassle. Saba is such a great traveler. Just pack that boy up and he is happy to go. We started out at 5:30 am and managed to get to Brothers by 7:30. We managed to stop at 3 different parks along the way: one by a river, one by the road and one just in the middle of town. We managed to snag a doughnut at for a treat by the first park. The second one, it was just some water and a run. By the time we hit the third, I did a little yoga and Saba just ran around. We were a little car crazy by then.

The hardest part of the trip was finding brothers house. We got up the mountain, we are at about 7,800 feet, and I figured it would be easy to find his numbered street. Well, the streets are numbered but they are not in order! It took a bit of time, but we got here. Saba was awfully happy to see his uncle. They play like boys. I don’t know, but it is just different when they play. I got Saba tucked in and then Brother and I headed out for dinner and drinks. Gosh, after a day on the road I was starving. It ordered a pecan and honey crusted trout. YUMMY, just yummy. We stopped at the local bar to hear the band; I only stayed a little while. I was tired and content. Brother dropped me off and the house and Saba and I snuggled up for the night.

We woke this morning to see snow. Yup, real snow falling from the sky as I am typing. I opened the blinds and am watching the car get covered with the stuff. We are going to do some site seeing today. Brother has it all planned out. I can’t wait; Saba will get his little paws in some real snow for the first time! I will try to get a picture of this, that should be a keepsake.
