The Austin Music Awards &Tim Dorsey was in town for a book signing last night
03/18/2004

It was in the midst of the festival, he is one of my favorite authors and I just couldn’t skip his appearance. http://timdorsey.com/, I just love Surge’s adventures and look forward to the new books as they appear. I even lent Dad Florida Road Kill when he moved there.

I managed to pick Brett up at the airport, he is staying on the couch for a few days, got dinner and Cranky dropped me off at the book store as she and Saba went on a field trip. It was so fun to listen to Tim tell his stories, to hear the man I admire read from his newest book, he had me laughing so hard I was in tears. Well, I didn’t get to stay until the end, he was running over and I had other places to be. I ducked out after an hour, left my book with Kramer and was on my way. I was heading down to the Austin Music Awards Ceremony.

Yes, this is one of my favorite events in the Austin Music scene. Margaret Moser puts on quite the show each year. I know some of the musicians stop there tours to get back to the awards. It is just so Austin, lots of fans, lots of talent and the awards and the back stage party. After the awards, I headed over to Antones for a couple of sets and then headed home after I hooked up with Brett again. All in all it was a great night, Music, Parties, Authors and Friends.

Today: heading down to work the Town Lake Stages: The line up today is: La Conquista from Corpus Christi, Los Terribles del Norte from Temple TX and then El Tri from Mexico City Mexico. It is the Latin Artist Showcase at the Town Lake Stage. Let's see if I piss the NARIS folks off again this year.
