Gosh it has been a quick week.

The cracked tooth is fixed, the back is fixed, an interview, a band and a cousin.
I got to the dentist on Monday, I felt weird dragging the little piece of my tooth into the office but it did pay off. When it cracked the other day, I dropped into my earplug case. I figured it couldn’t hurt to have a mold for the damage. She was able to use the porcelain piece that cracked off and re-bound the tooth. That was good news, I was a bit concerned about an unplanned dental expense, dental can get expensive very quickly. I saved myself a few hundred dollars by bringing the piece along.
I stopped and saw Dr. V, the chiropractor on Tuesday. After the drive to New Mexico and the SXSW festival, I was in need of a good adjustment. I was much better after I left her office. I ended up seeing her brother’s band on Friday night at one of the 6th Street clubs. He is a good player, I like the new band, it is just a 3 piece, stand up base, guitar and a saxophone. I haven’t been to 6th street in ages and little has changed. There were lots of college boys and girls out for a night of drinking. One couple, they were a bit older, were dancing up a storm during the show. The woman’s outfit was a bit disturbing. It was a leopard print body suite with a fluffy scarf like skirt and 3” stiletto heals. She shouldn’t have been wearing it but she was having a blast on the dance floor with her partner.
I had an interview on Wednesday. I hope to hear back by Monday or Tuesday on the position. I think I did well on the interview. I was very confident; they only interviewed three people so the chances are good. My only obstacle is I don’t have experience on their computer system. I did stress I have extensive computer knowledge but that may hold me back from getting this position.
My cousin C. is in town for a few days. She is attending a memorial service on Sunday for a friend of hers out in the hill country. We managed to get together for dinner last night. It was nice to see her. She is from the California side of the family. I only met her a few years ago when my great uncle, Tom had us all out to go skiing at Lake Tahoe. I have gotten updates about cousin C. for years. The annual Christmas cards the families send back and forth with the letters always included parts of her adventures. She has lived all over the world, she worked for the government in intelligence. It was nice to spend some quality time just one on one with her. She is a great inspiration, she had lots of advice for me and I genuinely like her. She will be in the Austin area for a few days; she is making a vacation out of her trip. I hope to get together with her to do some site seeing during the day this coming week.
Plans today: Church, racing, work and some shopping. I need to get ready for next weekend in Fort Worth, it’s the NASCAR race weekend. (Yes, I am going to work Sunday to be able to get a long weekend.)
