8 or 24 fans trash the speedway.

The Fans in Talladega embarresed me at the end of the race. Disapointed with the Yellow/White/Checkered finish, they threw a bunch of cans, beer and soda out on the track, at the cars and drivers. I am not sure if it was the Jr. fans or the Jeff Gordon fans or just frustrated fans. There is no excuse for this behavior, it makes all of us look bad. (I borrowed this image from NASCAR.Com.)
Racing was exciting at the super speedway Sunday. Drafting and restrictor plates made for a constantly changing lead. Each lap seemed to have a different leader. Jeff Gordon won, then Jr., Harvick, Johnson, Robby Gordon and Mark Martin. That put Robby in 5th for the race and moved him up to 22nd in points. That leaves him -441 behind the leader, we need to move up just a bit, with the last 10 race shoot out, he needs to be within 400 points of the leader. A couple of lead laps and a top 5 finish next week would move him right up. They are heading to his “home” track California Speedway, in Fontana this coming weekend. Should be the boost the Cingular team needs. Pit stops were great this weekend! Lets keep up the good work.
Ugh, I am so stuffed up, my eyes are watering constantly and I am just a tad feverish. The reason: Allergies, Central Texas Style. My car is covered in a green/yellow haze the stuff is all over and I have the air conditioner running just to be able to breathe. I took it easy this weekend: Went into work for a few hours on Saturday morning to do some volunteer work (painting) and then headed home to crash on the couch. Sunday, I managed to watch the Talladega race and take Saba to the park, but that was it. Not the most exciting weekend but with all the goop in the air, it was best to stay indoors.
