All Star Race and a criminal for the night.
05/27/2004
I spent part of Tuesday helping out the Police Departments cadet class with criminal roll play. They needed some volunteers to help with this segment of training and I figured since I had the night off, it would be a good thing to do.
Well, I got to be a disgruntled restaurant patron, I was going to skip out on my meal. My “boyfriend” and I got into an argument with the manager and he called the cops. The idea was we found a hair in my dinner. Our job was to test the cadet’s knowledge of the law, see how they reacted under stress and try not to get arrested. Well, my “boyfriend” got the handcuffs thrown on him a few times, but I didn’t. We put a twist on the game, he didn’t have any money and I had the credit card.
The guys I got roll play with were all field training officers. They have been around for a while, long enough to train there fellow cops. It was interesting to see how they played there parts and knew just where to draw the line. I got to yell, insult and harass the cops and I didn’t have any repercussions. Most of the cadets did very well with our segment of the training, I think it was a good practice lesson for them, don’t assume just because he is the guy, he has the money.
On to racing:
Robby got caught up in quite a wreck during the All Star Race. There was another car on top of his car. Thank goodness he was OK. I am glad I had that race on tape, there were lots of cautions, red flags and I was able to skip right over them.
I am going to be watching the Indy practice on the computer this morning and hope Robby does well today. I have blocked off Sunday for racing. The only thing I am going to do other than watch racing is head to church. I hope we end up with a quick sermon, or I am going to have to dash out a bit early. Race coverage starts at 11:00 am and I don’t want to miss a single moment of it. I am debating if I should head back down to Thunderhill for the Saturday Night races. It looks like a good line up and I don’t have any other plans. It could be a full 24 hours of racing for me. Sounds like the perfect weekend.
