Stewart vs. Kahne
07/12/2004

NASCAR says it’s not an incident, but pit crews will likely face fines. Oh, the darling Tony can get rough again and no consequences. Ho Hum what is it going to take?

Robby also spun a driver out at the end of the race, he got into the back of, shoot ,I can’t remember and knocked him into the wall. The press release on RobbyGordon.com mentions getting into another driver on lap 255/267. It looked like there was break checking going on for that one and it only got replayed once on the TV coverage. Not a big deal I think. Robby ended up finishing 17th and moved up a bit in points.

On Tony’s issue, who knows, could be a simple mistake but with his aggressive attitude this year, there are some doubts. Tony didn’t’ bother taking a victory lap; he just headed for the winners circle. Yes, he did win the race but got booed as he exited the car. They showed the altercation on the local news last night but not the jeering.

Mark Martin 24th after an engine blew with 2 laps to go. What the heck is going on with Marks engines the year? Scott Riggs 29th, Dale Jarrett ended up a strong 3rd.

Only local racing next weekend, NASCAR has a week off and then they head to New Hampshire for the 25th.

I spent Saturday Night at Thunder Hill Race Way. There was some exciting racing to the checkered flags. I met up with my friend from work C. and her son. Her son enjoyed the games more than races, I think he is a bit to young to hold his attention that long. He did watch the asphalt modified race and part of the ROMCO series. We did head to the pits after the race, he was excited to see the cars and be able to touch them. I heard from his mom today that he wants to get a toy racecar. Cute hugh?

I spent part of the weekend working in the yard. The good news is the lawn mower worked like a charm on Saturday morning. I got some ½ price plants at the big box hardware store on Sunday afternoon. I waited Sunday until evening to put them in the ground, I didn’t want to deal with the heat and I didn’t want to miss any of the race. I have a bunch more to deal with this evening. I did manage to get Saba to the park and run him down before I started planning. He was so tired, he just lounged and watched me work. He usually steals the plant containers and I have to chase him around the yard when I am ready to clean up.

Critter is winning. I can’t seem to find it. I have the traps out, I haven’t seen him and I can’t find a trace but I am hesitant to say he is gone. We will see what the next day or two brings.

Bad news on the schedule change, it will not take effect until next week. There is an end in site.
