not a good feeling

It was the first time at work when someone I know was involved in a major investigation. I saw a friend of mine walk in with his wife yesterday. I stopped to say hi and I could tell something major was wrong.
They were meeting up with some folks on the 2nd floor, that's where homicide and the major crime units are. It was about there kid, he has been missing for a couple of weeks, they may have found his body. So sad, I felt my heart break for them. I was not sure if I said the right thing, but what can you say to a parent? I hope they found some comfort having someone they know around. I hope I helped a bit. I don't know what else to do but be myself, be compasionate and pray for the best.
It put my little worries into perspective. So I missed the bus yesterday, it took me an extra 40 minuets to get home, not realy a big deal is it?
P. dropped his baby off at the house yesterday when I was at work. He had someone looking at his house with the realtor. I have been taking her when they schedule an appointment. She is a bit large, about 125 lbs., all dog. I am sure she would scare a few folks off! I had quite the dog filled night, in and out of the house all night long. We finally got settled in for sleep and then P. came to get her after his shift, about 1:30 this morning.
Its off to work for me, not much planed for the day, just a few phone calls I have to make.
