Heading up the scoring tower & heading in a new directions.

Robby Gordon managed a 16th place in the All Star Race.
I was glad to see that happen. I didn’t watch the race. I don’t have Cable and didn’t feel like heading out to the bars to watch it. I was glad to click and see the race results this morning. Robby has gotten himself a new crew chief: Gene Nead, from bill Davis Racing. Looks like from the first race things went well. Gregg Erwin will move back to an engineer position.
I haven’t been posting much, but there has been a lot going on. I have been helping with the local racing series down at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, TX. We are internet broadcasting the races on KMACSports.com. It has been a lot of fun, I haven’t ended up on air, I just do spotting and running for the on air folks. It seems to be a good fit for me. The track is running about every other weekend. It makes it nice, enough, but not every weekend.
I am planning on going to the IRL/Nascar Truck races June 7-9th. It’s time to look for hotel reservations for the weekend. I will head up on Thursday morning and be back on Saturday night. IRL runs on Saturday afternoon. No need to be up there on Sunday. I am planning on heading to the coast for a weekend in August for a wedding. Not sure I will be going anywhere for the Memorial Day weekend. I have the neighborhood ladies headed over to the house this afternoon for a little get together. Should be fun, they are a lively group.
Work has been work lately. I am not all that sure what is going on. There is a bunch of political crap, there is a lot of gossip buzz and I just want to stay out of it. I hate to say this, but if it doesn’t directly involve me, I don’t really want to know. I got my feelings hurt the other day, the guys were talking and then one of the detectives asked me to leave, saying it was a “Homicide unit” thing. I left but should have stuck to my guns. Last time I checked, that’s where I work. Oh well, I need to get over that little comment, but it still pissed me off. I don’t think its worth talking to that detective, he probably doesn’t remember it anyway. I will just think of it as “he’s a jerk” and let it go.
I went to a benefit barbeque on Friday for lunch. It was a lot of fun. I don’t get to see some of the people I like very often. The department has gotten so large, so decentralized, its often only at these types of events we get to run into each other. There was a great turn out, the officer that was benefiting is well liked and it showed with the number of people that helped out, attended and donated.
Saturday I got the lox cut again. I like it shorter. It feels good and I think it looks good. I stopped to see Kramer after the haircut at the metaphysical fair in Austin. It seems strange to have to check his travel schedule to get a session with him. I used to be able to just pop by whenever or we would be out where ever. I was hopeful he would have some great news for me, but looks like some opportunities open up but not the one I was hopping for. Not just yet, maybe in the fall. It looks like the rough patch I was in has/is coming to an end. I know I feel a lot better now I am in the barn, have the house rented and things are starting to flow nicely.
I did a bit of shopping afterwards and just headed home. I just wanted some me time: I read, ate, watched TV and generally lazed around the house. It was a nice change. Time to make up the lost time today. I have company headed her at 3:00 and a bunch of things to get done before they show up.
