Rain Rain and more Rain.
05/29/2007

My weekend plans were thrown aflutter by the weather.

Friday Night it was too icky to take Saba to the park. Saturday the Busch race was rain delayed and local racing was canceled. I ended up at a party: I had told the hostess I would attend if there was weather. I had a nice time.

Sunday I started off keeping up with F1 on the internet. Congrats to Fernando Alonso. Next up was the Indy 500 and then the Coca-Cola 600. Rain delayed the Indy race by a couple of hours and I ended up watching both races at the same time. Dario Franchitti managed to cross the bricks as the rain came down again at lap 415 when the race was finally called. His wife Ashley Judd was just precious in her print dress, big hat and a big smile on her face. You could tell she was proud of her husband.

The Coca Cola 600 came down to fuel. Just a bit was needed to finish the race. Casey Mears crossed the finish line and then ran out. No burnouts, no fuel left. It was a long race, even for me it began to drag.

I was looking for some statistics on the weather: our local lake has gone up 30 feet since the middle of February. That’s an awful lot of water. There was flash flooding on and off all over the weekend. Monday was a full on downpour here at casa de Devota. I did manage to take Saba to one of the local parks Sunday night. It wasn’t our usual place but I was a bit worried about the amount of water and debris in the lake. I didn’t want Saba in the water this weekend.

It's back to worker bee mode today...
