I knew I was tired, but I just crashed on Saturday.
06/24/2007

It has been a bit non stop around me lately.

The press has simmered down, the national spotlight has moved off and the investigations continue. I have to say I am a bit worn down, days with out lunch, no breaks, telephones ringing and people asking questions. In the center of the investigations and I can’t discuss any of it with anyone. It makes it difficult sometimes at work: other folks asking questions, outsiders asking questions. My standard answer is: I can’t talk about it, I can’t comment or I can’t discuss anything.

I ended up on Saturday heading back to bed after I got up in the morning. I was just tired, didn’t feel like doing much and my plans for cutting the grass went away with the additional rain. I grabbed a book I have been reading and curled up with Saba. We had a lovely afternoon and a quiet evening until the neighbor’s dog took a walk with out an owner.

The girls called and let me know the little corgi had wondered off. I grabbed up Saba and we hit his favorite spots, but no luck finding him. We went across the street to the condos and got locked in for a time. Seems you have to have a code to get in and out of the place. It would have been nice to know when one resident let me in to take a look. Lucky for me one of the people I know from there was out getting his mail and let me back through his place. The Corgi eventually made it home: one of the neighbors had found him and his girlfriend called him to say the girls were missing the same dog.

I realized after the dog adventure, I missed an evening at the race track. I had totally forgotten it was a local racing night. I am not sure they ran the races due to the rain, but I just needed a “down day”. This morning I am up early, getting some chores done and hope to get the grass cut later on, once it dries out.

Racing is off the agenda today, the TV coverage is on cable. I did see that Robby was on the outside front row and a piece on Jayski that he was looking to start a 2nd team. I hope he does well today, but it will have to be with out me.
