A bit of extra work and a nice weekend.
07/01/2007

Sid is much better, Saba is his usual self and I have just been running around a bit.

I found myself at the store Saturday afternoon after a nap. It looked like the rains were heading into Austin but I guess the storm fell apart. I walked out to the parking lot and I saw a rainbow over the eastern part of the city.

I had spent a very short Friday night at the house. I had taken Saba to the park and headed home. I was a bit tired so I was just planning on a watch TV night. I feel asleep early, before the news. Good thing because the pager went off just after midnight. I jumped up, started to make some coffee, and returned the call. I couldn’t figure out who I was calling: it was the generic “you have reached xxx-xxx-xxxx please leave a message”. I grabbed my handy little telephone card to try and figure it out when the telephone rang again. I knew who it was this time. I hopped in the car and headed to work. I reached in my bag at on of the stop signs for my Id and pass cards. I had to turn around: I had left the cards on the counter next to the coffee pot and I wasn’t sure I could get into the building. Back on the road and into the office for most of the night.

The sun was just starting to break the sky when I pulled back into the driveway. Silly Saba instead of going back into the house, he slept outside waiting on me. I felt a little guilty, but the over time is sure nice when I get paid. I headed into the house and grabbed a snack, fed the critters and took a nap. I had some plans early in the morning that I didn’t want to reschedule; it took a bit to pull them together. I got that done and then took an even another nap in the afternoon. After I got home from the store, I had a very quite Saturday night and slept in on Sunday Morning.

I headed over to T’s house: I wanted to help her out with a couple of things she mentioned she needed done. I knocked those off and went to go to the “new” discount store only to find it locked and closed. The sign said they were open on Sundays, but there was no one there.

I thought about doing a big trip to the outlet malls, but it looked like weather was heading this way again. I headed home and managed to relax and read for a bit. The storm didn’t make again, no rain today. I wondered out tonight with my steady companion. We went to the dog park and then we headed out for pancakes. I ended up with French toast, but it was a good breakfast and now I am ready to pack it in for the night.
