Helio makes the pole.

Cup is off this weekend, so my viewing will be IRL this afternoon.
It is the summer lull in Nascar, the point in the season when I just feel like yawning. The mid summer tracks aren’t exciting to me. The coverage gets switched to cable TV and there aren’t a lot of races I am willing to go to the bar to watch.
The IRL has a tight point race, granted they run very few races compared to the Nascar circuit. It’s rumored that some of their drivers are coming over next season the most prominent is Sam Hornish Jr. making the switch. Danica Patrick’s on the outside pole for the Mid-Ohio race this afternoon. It’s a road course with twists and turns so it should be exciting.
I managed to make the neighborhood lobster bake last night after spending a very lazy Saturday at the house. The food was outstanding, the company great and the music was a nice touch this year. Every once in a while when I think I want to move, I have to remind myself that there is a big advantage knowing an liking my neighborhood people. I may not like my immediate neighbor, but there are a lot of other nice people here.
I am still feeling rundown and out of sorts. Work has been non-stop, the new Chief was sworn in on Thursday and rumors are abounding. I would love to be at the command staff meeting on Tuesday morning, that’s where the updates and strategies will be given out. I am sure the rumor mill will be buzzing by mid week.
I am heading out to take Saba to the park this morning, we missed Friday night, it looked like a storm was heading in, but it stalled out just south of us. I wasn’t willing to take a gamble and get soaked. I am getting tired of the rain and the overcast sky. I know the electric bill is way down and that helps, but some sunshine would be very nice this week.
