Saba & I went to a wedding,

and Robby Gordon Looses his temper.
I was at the coast for a wedding this weekend: I headed out of town a day early, I was feeling a bit frustrated with work and decided to take an extra day away from the office. I drove down to Galveston on Thursday. Saba and I had a great couple of days at the beach. It was nice, he was able to be off leash most of the time and I got some sunshine and some time to think.
I went to the rehearsal dinner on Friday night and met the rest of the family. I had met the groom in the spring when Ms. McK brought him home for a weekend. I knew something was up, she was so anxious form me to meet him. He seems to be a stand up guy, is crazy about her and I think she made a good choice. They were engaged shortly after that trip.
I was watching the Busch race from Canada when I was getting ready to go to the wedding on Saturday. I left with about 20 laps to go; Robby was doing well in the 55 car. I figured I would get the results on Sunday, no big deal. Well, I guess things went to hell quickly. There was a crash, a shove a question about the restart and Robby lost his temper. I haven’t seen Nascar use the black flag with a cross through it in a very long time. I didn’t think the flag men even carried them anymore. I guess when you think your right, you think your right. I personally like the feisty side of Robby, but that was not great move on the track. Yah, I foresee some anger management classes ahead, some points and a big fine on Tuesday. He got parked for Sunday’s race, but got a replacement driver to take his place.
I was at the wedding, blissfully unaware that all this was taking place. It was a lovely ceremony on the beach, a quaint reception at the beach after and there was fun had by all that were there. Happy that Ms. McK now starts a new chapter in her life: she became Mrs. C, I have watched her grow into a beautiful young woman over the last 14 years. I was so happy I could take some time and share that special day with her.
I heard about Robby’s little issue on the radio on the way home Sunday: He handled himself like a gentleman, at least on Sunday. I read a clip on That’s Racing.com where Tony Stewart offered to help with the press interviews. I thought that was a nice touch Tony. Robby looks good in a polo shirt, but I do like it better when he can wear his drivers suite.
I will be watching Tuesday for the points penalties, the fines and perhaps a few classes in his future. Maybe Nascar will look harder at the tape. Sometimes they change their minds, sometimes…. Probably not with Robby, he is a bad boy, a bit stubborn and well, he’s a race car driver. He’s the Robby that this fan just adores, a bit of a bad boy.
