Robby gets a top 5 finish!
08/13/2007

Drama ensues: Harvick vs. Montoya in a shoving match on track.

Gee: let’s see what Tuesday brings. That would be fine and penalty day at Nascar. I bet Harvick and Montoya don’t get anywhere near the penalty that Robbie got last week. Care to take me up on it? I probably will not have any takers.

I headed back to the casa on Friday with a hot date with my dog and my pillow. Saba and I headed out to the park, had a great swim and romp and then headed for bed. I guess I am getting older, I don’t quite bounce back from my all night escapades as well as I used too. Oh, I just checked, I haven’t shared: I was at work on Wednesday and we had a suspicious death: it later was determined to be a murder. I worked a bit of overtime and had said to a friend Wednesday evening, I didn’t get very much OT from this one, it happened during the day. I need to be careful what I wish for: At 2:00 am that night the pager went off, and I went to work. It was one of those marathon days on 2 hours of sleep. I managed to leave the office at 5:45 pm. This time it wasn’t a murder but an in custody death, still lots of activity, lots of work for me to do. I was still feeling the effects on Friday; I just wasn’t 100%, I was a bit tired.

Saturday was chore day: the lawn and the house needed some attention. I was listening and calling in on the racing radio show, I found out it was the last radio broadcast, but managed get on air. I guess they are moving to internet broadcast only on KMAC Sports. I am not sure why, I didn’t get details.

I managed to get the grass cut, gosh was it hot. I got a couple of base cabinets delivered and got them placed in a workable arrangement after a bit of rearranging. I love the look of them: nice dark wood, but they need a bit of adjusting. Free is fine with me, I will be getting the power tools out later this week to trim down the “faux counter top” (plywood) and get it painted to seal it. It makes the kitchen look more like a kitchen now. I still want a real kitchen, but that is a someday project for now.

I headed down to the local track Thunder Hill Raceway, for a full night of races. With all the rain and the car issue a couple of weeks ago, it has been a while since I got to the track. I got my fill Saturday night. I arrived at the track after a detour to the shoe outlet, about 7 and had my fill by sometime well after midnight. I left with the nascarts still left to race. Not my favorite races so I headed home. There were a lot more cars at the track, after the closing of the San Antonio race track. Kyle is picking up a lot of their racers and fans. There was a lot of good races, close finishes and of course on and off track drama.

Sunday I had a lazy day: movies and a book, a bit of relaxation for a tired girl. I talked to Brother last night: it was funny to say, I didn’t have much to tell him. Other than work it was an uneventful week for me. He has lots to share: there is a girl, pretty serious I was told.
