Robby Gordon, can you take that extra rule book you got last week, highlight a few lines, mark it and send it back over to the officials?
I just read on Jayski’s that Pemberton “didn’t think they were fighting. They were discussing things”. “I thought it was cool as hell” from John Darby. I see how things are different, depending on who you are. Harvick and Montoya get a way with a spat, Harvick says a swear word on TV and no fines or penalties. Odd isn’t it? Aren’t those 12-4-A rules infractions? Actions detrimental to Nascar? They were last week, but alas the rule book is selectively enforced. I guess that comes under the heading “management discretion”
The drama theme just seems to be carrying over into this week at work. The new chief is making lots of changes at work. The higher ups are a flutter, the line troops are a flutter, and rumors are all over the place. All I want is my chairs back or replaced. We had a couple of sets of bench chairs for the hallway; we would have our witnesses and our perpetrators sitting in them before we did our interviews. Last week one set disappeared, I know they were ratty and torn but they functioned well. I did some checking and the bench got thrown away, Building Services was instructed by the new Chief to get rid of them because they were ugly, not because of a safety issue. I don’t really care what they looked like, but I can tell you, I have stepped into a pile of goop. I will be requesting my Sergeant ask my Lieutenant to ask the Commander to ask the Assistant Chief to ask the Chief get me some replacements.
I ignored most of the drama yesterday: my response was “look, I got a new pair of shoes, my world is good.”
