So last week did finally ended,
09/10/2007

I cracked open a beer when I got home, chatted on the telephone then headed to the park.

Saba and I did our usual Friday night romp; I jumped in and took a swim in the lake. We had a nice evening and then headed back to the house to call it a night. I fell asleep early, watching TV and the phone started ringing early in the morning. I called back and it was on of the sergeant’s voice mail. I was a bit confused, no message for me. I called communications and spoke to one of the operators. I identified myself, told her I was unable to get my sergeant but he had called. Was there a critical incident? Did I need to start the coffee? Yes, she said, there was a murder that was being worked. She offered me details on the call, number and location. I laughed and said, nope don’t need those, I just head to the office and I will get the details there. I thanked her for her time and her information.

I started the coffee, hopped into the shower and then called the sergeant back. Yes, he wanted me at the office. The line up was xxx, xxx and xxx would be at the scene. Ok, I will head down to the office. There were witnesses and officers waiting as I walked in the door. Four hours later I headed back home. It was 7:30 on Saturday morning when I hit the house. I wanted to talk to someone so who could I call that early? MOM.

She and I chatted a bit. I thought I would try to continue my day and take a nap later. I was on schedule when I noticed I was nodding off at my computer an hour later. I hopped into bed, set the alarm and headed to my haircut appointment. I had a list of chores to run, was thinking about going to Killeen for the races, but was unsure since I was a bit tired. I decided on staying home and watching the Nascar Richmond night race. It was a good choice, no worries about falling asleep on the highway on the way home.

I ended up getting up early on Sunday, getting most of the chores done before meeting T. for breakfast at 9:30 and then finished a few up later in the day. I wonder sometimes if I need to try to get out more. I did manage to have a nice weekend. It didn’t involve many people other than work. I did get some shopping done; I finished reading a book I bought last week, I watched the Nascar race and the IRL final race of the season. I guess that’s fine, I did a bit of everything I like so it was a good weekend.
