Friday night check out line.

Two Frozen pizzas’ and one bottle of wine.
I went to a neighborhood meeting on Wednesday night, the Chief was speaking and I wanted to be there for the second half of the meeting, an important neighborhood zoning vs. the city issue for me. I had to sit on my hands a few times about what the Chief said, it was a public forum and there are things I can’t/shouldn’t discuss in public.
I got home to find out a tree had fallen up against the house the other day in the winds. I wasn’t sure if that tree was going to make it, it was a decorative one and with the droughts, it had been struggling. It is all gone now: I managed to find someone to go up on the roof with a chain saw and cut it down. I hate to loose trees, I am deathly afraid of chain saws so I paid for someone to handle that chore for me.
I was heading home from work and I managed to get a sneak pass for the new movie Dan in Real Life. I ended up grabbing T. and heading to the theater. I laughed so hard I found myself stamping my feet and holding my belly. It is a fun, clean and a well done film. I headed over to pay the tree cutting guy after the movie; I had missed him with the bus running late, traffic issues down town apparently. I was surprised to find not one but three nice looking young men at the house. They were heading out for the night at a downtown club.
One of the men asked if I would be willing to go on a date with his father. This struck me as quite funny, I felt odd but answered yes, I would be willing. (I know I ranted I give up on men, but I am still optimist at heart.) He was telling me his dad was a geek, worked on this and that and it turns out that his dad knows someone I work with. I will be able to possibly meet him on Monday night. I am planning to go to this thing anyway, so why not take a chance to stop and say hi. Who knows what will happen: I just know I planned on being there anyway so it’s no big deal.
Oh so the grocery store: I had to stop on the way back from my park date with Saba to pick up a prescription at the local grocery store. I decided I wanted a frozen pizza for dinner last night. I was in the quick check out line and there was a guy in front of me with the makings of a nice grilled fish dinner, my pizza on the check out belt and then this other man that put down his pizza and a bottle of wine. We got a good laugh about pizza for the big Friday night events: we were both heading to different homes to make pizza and watch a bit of television to end the week. I had Coke, he had wine, but it was a comfort food kind of evening last night.
Today: I check the bank account balance, not much there after the tree, mortgage, car insurance and the other assorted unexpected expenses for the month. The good news is my paycheck will be in on Friday, the rent money should be in on Thursday so I guess it will be a low expense weekend. I am still going to head to the race track tonight: the heck with it, I need a bit of fun, it is the last race of the local season and I want to go. It might be noodles for dinner on Wednesday, but Saturday night it will be racing.
