I wore one of my new Robby Gordon hats today.

It was a beautiful day at the track.
I guess I just love being at the track: the fans, the cars, the excitement and the noise. I watched as Robby ran the # 55 car in the Busch race. He was doing ok then got a lap down, a slow pit stop, lots of changes and he was back in the pack. He managed to get the lucky dog on the last restart: I agreed with his call to go in and get 4 tires and fuel, save the sticker for the last caution of the race. Somehow that caution never showed up. He sill ended up placing a respectable 14th on the tower, the radio broadcast had him in 13th. Either way, he still had a good day in a race car.
After the race, I dropped brother at the hotel and I headed out to get fuel, snacks and something to eat. I guess part of the problem I have with traveling with other people is I don’t eat near as much as they do. I know it sounds strange to say this, but brother ate a bunch of junk food at the track: I had some fruit, a boiled egg, some potato chips and some sodas.
I stopped and got a smoothie for dinner, picked up some water and some Green Tea citrus juice for the big race on Sunday (I might just add some vodka to it that sounds like a nice drink!) and some more chips for the track. Brother likes huge breakfasts, 2 or 3 plates full, plus he likes to go to some of the more upscale places. I like those on occasion, but for me a quick bite to eat at the Waffle House and be on my way to the track is just fine for me. I wonder if I will ever find a guy I can take to the races, eat at Waffle House with and eat healthy the rest of the time? He is out there somewhere!
I am packing it in early tonight. The alarm is set. I will be on my way to breakfast (Waffle House), head to the track for autograph signing at 10:30 and hang out and watch the race with 100K of my race fan friends. It should get going to an early start. I am going to see Robby in the morning; it is going to be a fabulous day!
