Change of seasons, a change of colors.
11/25/2007

A bit of rearranging and reconfiguring my living space.

On Friday, I had headed out to the big box hardware stores, I now have the skew number of the doors I need but no one seems to have them all in stock. I tried two stores, called a third and they did a visual count. Not enough to be had at any one of the stores. I will try again today and perhaps hit the re-store and see if I can find some there. I have some help coming over today to get the trim finished up. I would like to get that chore off my “to do” list, it has been way to long and I don’t know why I just seem to be struggling to get it done, it was time to enlist some outside help.

I was a rainy cold day in Austin Saturday; I didn’t feel like doing much far from home. Other than getting my hair cut and a quick trip to the fashion store I had planned my day at home. I managed to snag a new red backpack for the holiday season. I am quite happy with my find, the bag is a festive red and silver. I love the new hair cut.

I headed back to the house for a bit of redecorating. I changed out the bath curtain, a whole new color scheme for $ 4.00 and a new bath mat for $6.00, clearance racks are always my first stop. I like the new look, black and white and very modern.

I changed out the curtains in my bedroom, red for the winter, changed the duvet cover to red and then found the red Santa throw and pillow for my bed. Those rooms now look great. I got the curtain rod and the curtains hung in the study, with the cold weather, ½ naked windows were causing the room to be a bit chilly. The rod had been sitting waiting to be hung for a bit, but that is now done.

I unpacked the Christmas tree and was trying to figure out where to put it when another burst of inspiration took over. It was time to re-arrange the living/dining room. The kitchen table got moved, the comfy chair has a new spot. The old TV stand will head to the curb this morning and the book shelf is now the TV and stereo stand. The new arrangement will stay post Christmas, it felt so comfortable last night as I was watching TV and chatting on the telephone.

It’s time to get ready for today’ trim and door adventure; I hope it is a one day, one shot deal. If I can get the doors found and installed I will feel much more on track with the house. Only the kitchen left, but that will be after the holidays.
