I laughed so hard my sides hurt.

I went and saw Ron White last night.
I was sitting in the dentist chair when my cell phone rang. After I was done with my appointment, I got the message off the pone. A friend of mine got tickets for the show and I met her out at the venue: Poodie’s Hill Top Café. A small place, about 150 capacity that is about a ½ hour from the house. I have gone to a few shows there, I like Poodie, I have met him quite a few times over the years working in music. He is part of Willie Nelson’s road crew. Each time I head out to his place, I have a great time and last night was no exception.
I met up with my friend, her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s son and his co-worker and his wife. It was quite a group, all having a rare night out. We were quite the gaggle of laughter even before the show went on. I am glad the lights were low, I was so embarrassed with some of the bits, but I was laughing my backside off. Just when I thought it couldn’t get funnier it did.
I stayed a bit after Ron White’s show and listened to a good bit of a set by Monty Montgomery, a local music talent. He is a fabulous singer/songwriter and the man can make a guitar sing.
I wish I hadn’t needed to leave before the set, but with the distance and the weeknight, I had to head back into Austin at a reasonable time. I made it through the door just before 1:00 am.
