Short Track Saturday Night!
05/03/2008

I am sitting in my comfy chair watching the Richmond race.

I did sign up for the scanner program on NASCAR, so I am listening to my favorite drivers. The annoying thing is the audio is a lap behind; it’s still interesting, but a bit distracting. I see the yellow before the audio gets caught up. I need to decide if I want to keep subscribe to that or just keep the audio for the race track. It’s a free trial so I have another race to decide.

Mikey Waltrip got parked; I hope it’s a huge fine on Tuesday for him. Stupid move with Casey Mears, it was stupid actions on Mikey’s part again. Great move for your sponsors again. I am sure Toyota is real happy with you. Casey Mears should be rather pissed off tonight, I would be.

My driver is having a bad night: laps down, frustrations with the car and wrecks all around him. I am watching JR. trying to get the lead, with 12 to go and I wonder if his engine will hold, I can’t tell if its tire smoke or engine smoke that’s coming out of the 88. Denny Hamlin just blew a right front; he was running so well on his home track with 12 laps to go. Race control is holding the Denny for stopping on the race track when he blew a tire, he brought the caution out and then kept going. It looks like a 5 lap shoot out, Dale Jr. is leading. Kyle Busch is looking on the bottom,

Racing back for what should have been the last few laps of the race and it’s a wreck for Dale Jr. with Kyle Busch. Dale Jr. gets into Kyle both were going for the same real-estate. That caused the 11th caution of the race. It will be a controversy for weeks to come. It looked to me like Jr. turned down on Kyle. The beer cans started to fly on the race track and Kyle is getting a solute from the fans as he goes by. It ought to be interesting for Kyle to get out of the track tonight, there are lots of angry Jr. fans out there.

The race ends with a green white checkered finish. Clint Bowyer takes the checkers Kyle Busch second and Mark Martin ends up third. Dale Jr. is scored in 15th. Not Robby or Jr’s best nights that's for sure. You could see the disappointment in Jr. as he did the TV post race. He is so overdue for a win. Robby had a bad night but on paper, it’s not as bad as it could have been. Robby managed to pull out a 26th place finish with all the wrecking going on. It’s short track Saturday Nigh Racing! You always have to wait till the race ends to see who is going to win. I am sure security is ramping up for the fans: they are sure going to be pissed off tonight.
