I have been quiet all week.
05/17/2008

I have a lot to say but this is not the venue.

My frustration level at work has peeked again. It has been a challenge all week just getting myself into the office. I hit the back door of the building and say to myself it’s time to leave my feelings at the door.

I know I am not one of the special people: I don’t get a parking, I don’t get treated to lunch, I don’t get recognized by my work group. I am still waiting for the pat on the back from the letter from last week: not a mention of it yet from any of the supervisors.

I keep plugging along doing my “average” job: helping out other agency’s, talking to distraught callers, keeping up databases and handling paperwork. I Find information, deal with frustrated family members, try to route callers to the right departments. It’s taken its toll on me this week.

Two college interns showed up last week and magically all the road blocks I faced are moved out of the way for them in hours not months and years.

Sometimes it’s lemons that life gives you. I just can’t figure out how to make lemonade out of this situation.

I keep looking at the job boards; the stable attendant position looked good: muck the stalls and get paid. It sounds like my current job, but a better job description.

Outside of the office: things are great. I will be working on the house: getting ready to paint over the long weekend. I want to get the prep work done this weekend and the weather is gorgeous.
