I was Multi Tasking.

I was listening and watching racing and painting.
I have one part of the house left to paint, the back side of the house: the eves. I was going to attempt it late in the day but decided to that I was a bit to weary to head up on the ladder in the heat of the day. I managed to get 3 sides all done, so just part of one to go. I did get to listen to Indy on the TV as I was painting the bedroom side of the house. I did stop and watch the last 25 laps of the race. Congrats to Dixon, I can’t wait to see those guys race at Texas Motor Speedway in a couple of weeks. There will be lots of rookies on the track with the combined series; they will not have a month of practice either. I hope it doesn’t turn into a wreck fest in Texas.
I packed up the painting after a few laps were in on the 600. I was listening to the TV finishing up the porch painting. I headed in to watch the race and sadly my driver, Robby Gordon was out of the race very early, the engine blew up and he was the first car out of the race. That’s going to stink as far as points go for the next race, hopefully it doesn’t mean we will have to qualify on time at Dover.
I was switching between drivers on the scanner program and as I was listening each driver fell out of the race. First Robby with an engine, then Jimmy Johnson next was Stewart. When I switched to Kassey Kahne I was wondering if I just jinxed him. The last 100 miles of the race put the cars to the test, engines and parts failures. Did you see the tire that flew off of Brian Vickers car? I guess that vibration was trying to get his attention. I watched as security grabbed that tire up and golf carted it back to the pits. I am sure there were a bunch of folks looking at that, wondering how the whole wheel let go. I hate that the last 20 laps ended up in a gas and go for the drivers: late pit stops for the little bit of fuel to make it to the end.
Kahne managed to win the race followed by Biffle, Busch, Gordon and Dale Jr. in a torn up car.
