The last few days made me appreciate my desk job.

I will try to stop grumbling so much…
I managed to get the whole house painted over the long weekend, but I need to do a second coat. Drat! That will go a lot quicker, the cutting in and the prep work took an awful lot of time. I picked a lousy weekend weather wise to do this little job, it was hot and sticky, but I got distracted going to Talladega last month. I will not whine about conditions at work: the air conditioning being to cold and being stuck at a desk. This was quite the reminder that manual labor outside is tough work. I am a bit sore from this project, but it’s almost done. I still need to do the second coat and the trim, but the house is now yellow. It looked good when I arrived home last night from taking Saba to the park and grabbing a bit of dinner.
I did realize a couple of things when I was paining. I was thinking if I tumbled off the ladder, it would not be good. I can’t count on Saba calling 911 for me. I would be helpful to have another person around, I did check in with a couple of people during the weekend. I got a text message from Brother’s girlfriend; they are on vacation in the Caribbean. Mom is in the Mediterranean and I am painting the house. Do you see a problem with this? Nah, I have my little world, have my little house and my little projects. Hopefully when its time to paint again, I will have made some strides: I will have sold the place or I will have kept it and be able to afford to hire someone else to paint it. I will keep playing the lottery, perhaps take on a second job, but I keep moving forward with my little shack in South Austin.
Sorry, I had to turn the comments off again: spammers with a long weekend got a little out of control. If you have a comment, link to the mail on the right.. I will manually post it.
