The second 48 hours.

IT part 2.
It was a very uncomfortable second 24 hours of not moving my head. I guess we all realize when we are limited how much we take for granted. Watching TV, not cooking and sleeping upright took its toll, my frustration level was peeking the second night. I took the collar off in the morning, it was now 48 hours. I was able to do my morning routine with out any problems. I did fine on the drive to work, I did fine until I bent over to pick something up at the office. I just about cried, there it was, a little bit of IT.
I headed out of work early yesterday; I went for one more test for IT. I felt bad, there was a lot of activity in my unit yesterday morning, but I couldn’t stay and help out. I had to run out the door. I had to get this test done; it was the last piece of the puzzle. I needed to make sure that it was only IT causing the problems, not something else along with IT. I guess the pretzel maneuver worked like it should have. The technician wasn’t able to induce a full blown IT during the tests. I had a mild it, but nothing like the last few weeks. Yah!
After the test, I sat with the doctor for a few minuets. He double checked the ears, looked at the results and warned me that IT might happen again. He also told me that the light symptoms will be around for a couple of weeks. I shouldn’t worry, I shouldn’t panic and there was no need to cry. The worst was over with. I could do the pretzel move again if I needed to. He told me he sees someone with IT regularly in his practice, sometimes it takes two pretzel moves to fix IT.
I headed home after the test: it made me feel yucky; I was also tired and cranky from lack of sleep for two nights. I snuggled up with Saba after I made a couple of phone calls. I slept a solid three hours, which was quite a nap. I started to look on the internet for a flight to Daytona.
I wanted to head to the Nascar race. I had looked a few weeks ago but with IT and not knowing what IT was, I was afraid to get on an airplane. I held off booking a cheep flight and now I am within the 10 day ticket window. I had to add to my to my disappointment, the flight prices jumped out of my price range. With a ticket, a shuttle and an extra night in the hotel, I just can’t justify spending that amount of money to go to a race. I will be watching New Hampshire this Sunday from home. I will have to watch Daytona from here and try to figure out what other track I can head to for a Nascar get away weekend later in the schedule.
I can’t wait to get back to my routine: I am going to go to my local track on Saturday night. I am heading to my yoga class tonight after a long absence. It is time to put IT to the test, time to get back to my stuff.
