Happy Friday!

I didn’t make it to yoga, but I did go to a party.
I left work yesterday and headed over to a retirement party. I had printed the announcement and totally forgot about it until I was clearing off my desk for the end of the work day. I detoured to the event, a short walk from the office and said my goodbye’s and a thank you for all the help over the years. I saw a few people I knew, but was surprised that there weren’t more I recognized.
I headed back to catch the bus and as I rounded the corner, there was the bus I was hoping to get on crossing the bridge. I sat down on one of the benches to wait for the next one and was then surrounded by a group of youngsters from Ballet Austin. They were so glam, shades, bags and accessories that were dance related. I found it interesting to watch as the group waited for the bus to take them somewhere. It made me smile thinking to myself this is just so Austin.
I headed to the house after a quick trip to pick up some milk for coffee this morning. I was going to try for a yoga class, but by the time I hit the front door, there wasn’t enough time to get there since I missed the bus I wanted. I made myself a nice dinner, chatted on the telephone and called it an early night.
I have 8 more hours to complete my work week. It has been a bit strained this week. Between appointments for me, the lack of communication that is rampant in my work place, it has been a challenge. Some of it might be me, but a lot of it is just the norm.
I am looking forward to taking Saba to the park; with the heat around here, I will probably put on my swim suite and join him for a dip in the lake. It will be good to put this work week to bed and get going on my weekend things. Local racing on Saturday night, watching the Nascar race on Sunday and perhaps a few chores to knock off the list.
