I was monitoring the New Hampshire race on the computer yesterday afternoon and I found it completely frustrating that I could listen to the scanner and then glance at the computer and 15 seconds later the event would unfold on the screen. I know its nit picky, but I subscribe to TrackPass and Race Buddy is free. Can we just get them on the same time delay? Please?
It was a rain out at the track as the thunderstorms headed in and the race had to be called short. Robby’s car stunk; he ended up being in the back of the pack. The driver was complaining his engine was off. I wonder about some of the fuel mileage calculations: on one of the pit stops, there was so much fuel dumped in the pit stall, I doubt there was any way to get an accurate estimate. Robby was going to get a lucky dog pass when the race was called for rain. I am not sure how that is going to effect the final scoring of the race. I guess I will have to see when it becomes official later today. It shows him 26th with 284 lap’s unofficial. I think that was already adjusted but time will tell. Tony Stewart was the lap leader but a bad pit call and he ended up 13th with Kurt Busch taking the win. Brian Vickers ended up with a 16th place spot, but that team is just moving on up and showing steady progress.
There were some angry drivers yesterday: bumping and banging in the pack. Montoya and Kyle Bush got into a spat after the caution. There was some aggressive driving back in the pack also during the race. Some drivers are under pressure for contracts; some have already lost contracts and are up on the wheel for their contract negotiations. I keep hearing there is more driver switches coming.
I looked at getting cable or satellite TV yesterday again. I give up! It is so confusing between the companies. If you add TV, telephone and internet access the price goes way up. If you just do TV and get local and Speed TV, you have to pay extra for that privilege. I guess it’s the internet for now; I don’t want to commit to a year of TV. If I take the savings by not signing up, I could go to an extra race live each year. That’s my plan for right now. Subject to change, but sorry satellite and cable, I am not ready to delve in for more channels full of infomercials I will stick with my rabbit ears and the internet.
