The Great Banana Caper
07/11/2008
Sometimes I am so goofy.
I went to the grocery on Monday night after work. I picked up the usual items including a couple of bananas for the week. I got home and was distracted with a flurry of phone calls as I put the groceries away. I washed the vegetables and put them in the bins in the refrigerator as I talked on the phone.
Tuesday morning as I was packing my lunch I couldn’t find the bananas. I looked in the usual spot and didn’t see them. I wondered in my distraction if I had put them in the refrigerator, I looked and didn’t see them. I looked in the trunk of the car, looked in the shopping bags and no bananas. I just couldn’t figure out where my bananas got to.
As I was finishing up packing my lunch, after some coffee and a shower there were the bananas, right where they belonged. They had slid down behind a bag of pretzels in the bowl on top of the microwave. I laughed as I walked out the door to work: the banana caper was solved and I had breakfast.
Some things are right before your eyes, you just have to look a little closer or from a different angle.
