What’s the point of low fat chocolate syrup?

I haven’t written about this past weekends races, sorry I got distracted.
Wrecked race cars were the theme of the weekend in both cup and local racing. Some bad driving, a couple of racing incidents left the teams with lots of repairs this week. I did hear some good news, a guy I met that was looking for a ride found one to buy. One of the local drivers, Brad Coleman got a Cup ride so there is lots of good news in my racing arena. For the weekend results, click over to the track: Thunder Hill Raceway or Nascar.com.
Saba and I headed off to Town Lake Park Sunday night, oh that would be “Butler Park” now, thanks to a decree from city counsel. (It still irks me: where was the Butler family when we were working on the design, the pressure on the counsel to get the park built? ) We walked along the lake, took a dip in the water and then headed to the fountain. There were tons of children and a few adults frolicking in jet sprays. I left Saba by the side of the fountain, a stern “stay” and then I joined in the fun. I am so glad that we have the park; I could tell the kids were having a great time, the big ones and the little ones. On a 104 degree day, it sure was a nice way to cool off.
I headed off to a meeting after work last night. I am working on a project with the South Austin Culture Club. We are planning a luncheon with the police chief and the city manager as the featured guests. It is shaping up to be a lot of fun. The pieces are coming together nicely. The RSVP numbers are up quite a bit from past events. It sure is drawing a lot of interest from the politicos. I like this group, lots of interesting people and lots of political clout. The discussions are always lively and fun.
I headed to the grocery after the meeting; I needed a few “stock” items for the week. I was rushing through the aisles grabbing what I needed. That’s when I noticed the syrup it made me laugh. I wanted to head to the house. Saba wasn’t feeling all that well this morning, a tummy upset. I wanted to go home and check on him. He had me a bit worried yesterday when he skipped breakfast. He seemed fine last night, begging for treats.
Work: is just weird right now. I was glad to see on of the commanders reinstated. I was asked to help with something I think is an improper use of city resources. I told the requestor, but complied with the request. It is still bothering me this morning.
