Happy Call from Dad.
08/26/2008
I got back to the house and Dad was calling.
I was a bit alarmed at first, not the usual time, not the usual tone. Dad was telling me about his drum corps adventure over the weekend. He flew up to do a show in CT this past weekend. He had a wonderful time, some wonderful moments and is excited that he will be flying up to the next show. I haven’t heard him that excited in a long time; it sure was good to share in his joy.
I muddled through the new bus change: new route, new times and it made for a long day. I arrived too early and left to late. I must have just missed the bus home and had a long wait for the next one. I don’t enjoy being stuck downtown, the thugs, the homeless and the panhandlers are annoying. I might have to see if I can adjust my work schedule by a few minuets to avoid the hassle. I am sure it will be a challenge, but I will press my issue. If I can make a 10 minuet change, I can make a big difference in my commute quality.
I was watching the news as I was heading to bed. I heard a report indicating there was a murder in the city. I looked at my pager, nothing. I looked at the cell phone no message there either. I guess it’s a cost saving measure.
