Pagers, Bat Fest, pizza and wine.

I was in my yoga class and the pager went off a couple of times:
Instructions to ramp up for Gustav evacuees. Initially it was for the 24 hours shifts that come into effect during major emergencies. I got a second page that said it was for specialized units only further instructions would follow. I got home; waited for the further instructions and they didn’t arrive. I called into the office and no one answered, they were out on a call. I got a hold of the main entrance folks and asked what was going on; I didn’t think it was a full blown emergency according to the local news. Not much was going on according to them: wait for further instructions. I took a nap just incase and headed out to Bat Fest.
There was lots of jewelry, lots of dust collectors and festival food. I did manage to find a neat plant holder: 4 pots hang off one piece of wood. I figure it will be great for those kitchen herbs. I will need to find a larger hanger and pick up a few pots to hang on it and a few plants to put in the pots. I don’t understand why Bat Fest picks a bridge for their festival: it’s hot and sticky with no shade and the pavement doesn’t feel all that good under your feet.
I headed home and watch the Nacar race on the computer. I love the ESPN coverage, streaming on the computer I don’t miss any of the race. I have the scanner program going in the background and it is a great set up. I made a white pizza for dinner, poured a glass of wine and settled in for the race: it was in California so I figured I would ramp up the race food a bit. Chad and Jimmy took the checkers.
This morning I am watching the news and surfing the web. Gustav coverage, no rain expected for Austin: we are on the back side of the storm. I have to head to the big box office supply store and do a bit of printing for the lunch on Wednesday.
